The greens for the 2023 League Competitions have now been arranged as follows :-

League Handicap Monday 5^th June. Final Friday 9^th June.

Prelims Arriva and Halewood. Final at Gardeners.

League Merit on Monday 3^rd July. Final Friday 7^th July.

Prelims at ASM and Larkhill. Final at Richmond.

Over 70”s Monday 31^st July. Final Friday 4^th August.

Prelims at West Derby Recs and Gardeners. Final at Grant

League Pairs Monday 25^th September. Final Tuesday 26^th September.

Prelims at Halewood and West Derby Recs. Final at Brenesc.

Clubs hosting Preliminary and Final games to supply jacks and mats.

On page 12 the first round of the O”Neill Cup should read :-

Larkhill A v Edinburgh Park and Richmond v Grant.

The date of the second round is Tuesday 20th June not 30th as shown.

In the fixture book for Friday 28th April in Division 1 the fixture shown as Brenesc v Richmond 2 should read Brenesc v Richmond

BCGBA Newsletter 24 (1)

I have been informed of the passing of Mick Lynch of Brenesc.  Mick  was the winner of the 2022 League Handicap but had been very ill over the last few months.  His funeral will take place at 1.15pm on Tuesday  11th April  2023 at St Monicas Church, Fernhill Road, Bootle L20  9 GA  followed at 2.15pm Thornton  Crematorium.  All are welcome  afterwards at St Monicas Club, Stewart Avenue, Bootle  L20  9JD.   RIP Mick.

The first two weeks fixtures are as follows :-

I have been informed of the passing of Don Aldridge who for many years played for Woolton Village Club.  He was a past winner of the League Handicap and the Over 70″s.  His Funeral will take place at 12.15pm on Tuesday  21st February  2023 at Springwood Crematorium  afterwards at WVC.  RIP Don.. I have been informed that the proposal by the BCGBA for an annual fee of £1 was discussed at the Rules Revision Meeting yesterday and it was not passed.

I have been informed of the passing of John Howarth the President of Garston  Pensioners  BC.   John had been a member of that Club for over 30 years.   His funeral will take place at take place at 1.15p.m . on Friday 13th January 2023 at Elm Hall Methodist Church, Elm Hall Drive, L18 2 DD.   RIP.  R H.

This year the Annual General Meeting for this League will take place at 1.30pm on Monday 28th November 2022 at the Richmond Club. Any proposed notices regarding change of Rules should be in possession of the Secretary by the 14th of November 2022.

I have been informed of the passing of Billy Mercer who played for many years at Brenesc.  His funeral will take place at 11.15.a.m. on Tuesday 25th October 2022 at Thornton Crematorium. RIP Billy.

Richmond BC report the passing of Ken Smith one of their long standing members.   His funeral will take place at 11.20am on Monda 24th of October 2022 at Anfield Crematorium. RIP Ken.
